- 12 January 2009 - Shaykh ul Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri donated Rs. 5 million on behalf of Minhaj ul Quran International for the needy people of Palestine
- 14 January 2009 - Inauguration of the website of The Minhaj University Lahore
- 17 January 2009 - The meeting of Minhaj European Council took place in Minhaj Islamic Center Barcelona in which Shaykh ul Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir ul Qadri declared Minhaj European Council to be the backbone of Minhaj ul Quran International in its administrative work.
